Nate Berkus was born Nathan Jay Berkus on September 17, 1971, in Orange County, California. His mother is designer Nancy Golden, who was involved in founding the Minnesota chapter of the Independent Designers Association and has appeared on HGTV shows such as "Decorating Cents" and "Room for Change."
